IDN-Kenya is headed by an Executive Director accountable to a seven-member Board of Directors. The secretariat consists of staff organized functionally under management and operations.
The management branch consists of staff dedicated to institutional management and is built around Administration, Finance and Information Communication Technology (ICT). The Operations branch is dedicated to the development, implementation and monitoring of IDN-Kenya’s activities, structured around key areas including Governance, Research, Security, and the Empowerment of Affirmative Action Groups.
These two branches work collaboratively to ensure the effective and efficient achievement of IDN-Kenya’s mission.
The Board of Directors holds ultimate responsibility for governance, providing strategic oversight and guidance. The Management team oversees the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat and is accountable to the Board through the Executive Director.
The Board establishes organizational policies and strategic direction, appointing the Executive Director to lead the organization by executing Board directives and managing operational activities.
Meet Our Team
Shigoli holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science and Public Administration degree, with a post graduate Diploma in Strategic and Security Studies from the University of Nairobi. He has Masters in Public Policy and Administration from Kenyatta University. He a background professional training in Cybersecurity, Counter Intelligence processing and production. He is the National Chairman of IDN-Kenya and a strategic advisor to the Organization.
Muchemi holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from Maseno University with a post graduate Diploma in Strategic and Security Studies from the University of Nairobi. He a background professional training in fraud examination, ethics and leadership and Operation Intelligence Analysis. He is the Founder, National Co-ordinator and a Strategic Advisor at IDN-Kenya.
The late Dr. Carey held a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, History, and Literature, and a Master’s degree in Philosophy from Kenyatta University. He earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Vienna, Austria, and completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Institute of African Studies, Columbia University, New York. Dr. Carey had extensive experience in NGO management and served as the Chair of the IDN-Kenya Advisory Committee.
Mr. Mwangi holds a Diploma in Flight Dispatch, Operations Control, and Air Law. He serves as the Secretary to the Board and oversees the ICT and Research departments at IDN-Kenya.
Wangari holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from Masaai Mara University with Professional training in in Accounts (CPA 1 and 2). She is in charge of IDN-Kenya Gender Department.
Antony has a wealth of experience in management and research. He is incharge of programs at IDN-Kenya.
Wendo is holds a higher Diploma in Information Communication Science from Eldoret National Polytechnic and Pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Business Management/IT degree at Maseno University with specialization in System Analysis and Communication. Wendo is in charge of IDN-Kenya Communication and Liaison department.
